Gifted Boutique CIC is a charity boutique raising money through selling second hand high street designer clothing. The funds raised are all given to charities supporting children in Reading.
Like many clothing brands, the boutique has drops every few months and it was our job to create the social media assets of 'Drop 8'. As soon as this real job landed in my email I knew it was something I wanted to pursue, due to my passion for designer clothing but also the fact it was for a charity for children was something I really admired. After meeting with the client he expressed that he wanted something fresh and funky and also obviously in collaboration with the students of Reading. He had not previously taken pictures of the clothes on a model and this was something he was keen to incorporate.
The deliverables would be as follows:
Depop photos (for at least 6 items)
Animation
Website banner
Facebook banner and other promotional images to be posted to be used on social media.
With such a heavy brief I was teamed up with two other students to complete this Real Jobs.
Initial Sketches
This was my initial concept which we presented to the client and he was really drawn to them but was not sure how effective they would be on depop. I made sure to prioritise the number 8, as well as making sure to full-fill his desire for a more funky appeal. Similarly, I used a monogram approach which is trendy and will appeal more to a younger audience at the clients request.
Here is 3/6 of our hero images. We chose this wood block '8' as a way to enforce the collaboration of the client with our department. The client wanted it to be obvious that this was produced by students at the University of Reading and
